After the procedure, I continued to bleed internally. The painkiller they had given me has a mild blood thinner in it, and my body overreacted to it. So they sent me back to surgery. I awoke later in the ICU (the nurses had allowed me to slip out of sedation). They had placed a tube down my throat and were feeding me minimal oxygen. This made it too hard to breathe and I couldn't talk. I panicked, tried to pull the tube out and thrashed around. I'm told I had to be pinned by two male nurses before they could knock me out again. In my panic, I had torn my IV out and had reopened some of my sutures. So I was carted off a 3rd time. All this in one 20 hour period. I spent the next 2 days in ICU again, and 2 more in recovery. Now I'm anemic, sore, I have a SIX inch scar across my abdomen, four 1 inch scars from the original surgery, and a still open abscess where my drainage tube once lay.
Kind of a shitty way to end a year, I'd say.
